Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens is part of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway company), and all our turf fibers are extruded and tufted in Shaw’s American factories. Cutting-edge automation and Lean/Six Sigma practices ensure consistent quality to hit industry-leading standards. When you plan to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can trust that you’re investing in American-made grass built to last.
American Manufacturing: We manufacture through Shaw’s facilities, including our Dalton, GA plant. Ongoing upgrades in Shaw’s factories maintain fiber precision and quality.
Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, Southwest Greens manages every step of the supply chain. That allows us to provide uniform fiber construction and appearance across production runs, quick turnaround for service requests, and complete tracking to resolve any defect efficiently.
Rigorously Tested: Before any turf arrives, it’s tested and validated through Shaw’s labs and outdoor fields. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to mimic extended real-world conditions. The turf is checked for fade resistance, strength, and play response, so your turf remains natural-looking and durable over time.
CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION
We regularly enhance our turf to be true-to-life and tough. Some of our latest turf technologies include:
Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: The patented Bolt cross-section gives our turf its edge. It retains its shape longer than standard turf, out-performing wear standards by over 2x. Its special cross-section diffuses light to minimize glare, giving the lawn a low-luster, lifelike appearance.
HydroChill® Cooling: We offer cooling infill that reduces turf temperatures by 30–50°F. This passive cooling system is great for sun-baked yards or putting greens, keeping feet and paws comfortable even in summer’s heat.
Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are engineered to drain waste quickly and resist staining. Your dog won’t dig up holes or drag mud into the house anymore. And how our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste prevents odor buildup and dead patches.
Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to show off your identity? Our Creaturf™ program lets you personalize turf with logos, patterns, or custom colors. From custom logos on backyard putting greens to distinctive pet turf, this feature offers unlimited creative control.
TAILORED TO YOU
We gather feedback from users, golf pros, and designers to ensure our artificial turf solve practical challenges. Feedback from golfers inspired us to develop a realistic “spring green” color that creates visual harmony. Little details like this have made our products the top choice by Metro New York pro players, homeowners, and landscape architects alike.
We also offer specialized systems for every application — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.
We take fake grass installation seriously. Installation requires skill and artistry. Our synthetic turf replicates real course playability. That’s why top players such as Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam recommend us. And because Shaw’s backing enhances our customization power, we can customize every layer of your turf.
LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND
At Southwest Greens, we never stop innovating. Keep an eye out in 2026 for exciting new turf developments! The Shaw Sport Turf shared that customers will help pick upcoming field designs and that a patented “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will launch in 2026.
This playful spirit and technology will make their way to landscaping products soon. We can’t reveal everything just yet, but know for certain, our R&D team is hard at work on the next generation of artificial grass.
New releases will be inspired by customer feedback and cutting-edge research, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
